Despite the tension, intrigue and pathos of Manos, Greek distributors played up the women-wrestling-in-diaphenous-robes angle. And it worked! Greek theaters had lines around the block for "Manos: The Fighting Brides of Southwest Texas!"

We should take time here to mention a curious oddity about these posters: John Reynolds' given name seems to have been translated into local dialect on each one! We have no idea why, other than it may have been a marketing gimmick to insinuate Reynolds was something of a local boy, enticing audiences to see how brightly a countryman could shine in America.
