Germanic audiences were not left out of the Manos experience, though the distibutors went with a more symbolic ad campaign. 'Manos: Your Fate Is In His Hands' was wildly succsessful in Germany and Austria and some point to the excellent Deutsch dubbing of the Knapp sisters. Many agree that the German dubbing is far superior to the original American vocal treatments!
The tagline, "A film of unspeakable American horror!" can be taken two ways, but judging from ticket sales, the distributor was happy in the end!
