"Are You There Manos? It's Me, Torgo." took Mexican and South American theaters by storm! Audiences immediately understood the plight of Torgo, overworked and underpaid, as a small but invaluable cog for the evil cult leader. The tagline, "The chilling story of a young man seduced by American capitalism!" was a tad off the mark, but intended as words of wisdom to those hoping to cross the border for the American Dream. As on the German poster, translation is somewhat garbled warning of "No sitting during the last ten minutes!" We're not certain exactly what they meant…
