The M/V Columbia is a 418 ft vessel operated by the Alaska Marine Highway. It services the Inside Passage and includes Bellingaham, Washington as a turn around point. It is considered the, “Flagship Vessel” of the fleet. It gets its name from the Columbia Glacier in the Chugach Mountains, Alaska. It has two car decks and peak capacity, it can hold 499 passengers and 134 vehicles.
With Alaska having the largest coast line of the states, and plenty of islands, the Alaska Marine Highway was, and still is, an essential means of travel in and around Alaska.
