The M/V Taku is a 252 ft vessel operated by the Alaska Marine Highway. It services the Inside Passage and is the largest ferry that can service the smaller communities on the, “Milk Run”. It gets its name from the Taku Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. At peak capacity, it can hold 370 passengers and 69 vehicles.
With Alaska having the largest coast line of the states, and plenty of islands, the Alaska Marine Highway was, and still is, an essential means of travel in and around Alaska.
