Be the Change

Speaking truth to power, people join organizations, make demands, march in the streets, sign petitions, canvass door-to-door, create political posters, gather at City Halls, run for office, vote, boycott, ridicule, get arrested, burn flags, and topple governments.

These Los Angeles protest photographs celebrate that activism, starting with the 2003 actions against the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, and continuing on to showcase photographs from immigrant rights/amnesty protests, Burma freedom and Arab Spring rallies, the Occupy L.A. encampment, the labor movement, Black Lives Matter demonstrations, and the 2017 Women’s March. Be the change.
