Sara Jane Boyers (sarajaneboyers)
A former music industry attorney/executive and personal manager of performers, Sara Jane Boyers changed direction to write, edit and create books and to photograph. As a photographer, Boyers' work has been picked for exhibition in juried competitions and exhibited in museums and galleries, including a recent solo exhibit of Boyers' multi-year photographic project on the North American Chinatowns, FINDING CHINATOWN, at the Craig Krull Gallery, Santa Monica, CA. She most recently participated in several museum exhibitions including a Getty-sponsored Pacific Standard Time show and the California Design Biennial: ACTION/REACTION at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. She co-curated SUMMER MIX for LACMA's Wallis Annenberg Photography Department and has participated in three MOPLA (Month of PhotographyLA) exhibitions, the last of which she co-curated. Her work is in private and public collections.
DETROIT: DEFINITION, a photographic study of Detroit, Michigan, the city of her birth has had in progress exhibitions in France and Northwestern China and is in planning for a major exhibition and book.
