Richard Wanderman (rwanderman)
My life is a constant struggle to harness creativity and finish whatever it is I'm working on in a time short enough that I don't forget what I'm doing. Because of this, I've found it useful to make objects as placeholders so that I don't lose these ideas. Making an object, even an imperfect one, allows me to get the idea outside my head and pin it on a metaphoric bulletin board; I can refer to it without struggling to hold onto it. Over the years, my ideas-turned-into-objects have included production pottery (dishes), ceramic sculpture, mail art, rubber stamp collages, mixed media sculpture, photographic notecards, photographic prints, and now, with Wabi Sabi and MagCloud, a magazine.
