Micheal Jones (mjonesart)

Micheal Jones was born in the southwest in 1951, and began painting at an early age.

He studied art under such artists as George Emmett Calvert and Robert E. Wood, and earned his Master’s Degree in 1978. Micheal has exhibited his work in many prestigious juried shows, including the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Exhibition, Watercolor West in Los Angeles, and Adirondacks National Watermedia Exhibition in New York. A set of his mezzotints toured Russia in 2010 with the “Out of Darkness” International Mezzotint exhibition, and he has work on display in the State Museum in Yekaterinberg, Russia, in 2011. He was also recently accepted into the International Mezzotint Exhibition in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jones has spent the past two years at work painting acrylic paintings created in a square format, as a self contained, yet ever-evolving body of work.
