Kathy Morrow (KathyMorrowStudio)
<Kathy Morrow> paints a variety of subjects, working in many mediums. Native American influence is a strong theme from growing up on the San Carlos Apache and Pine Ridge Sioux Indian Reservations in Arizona and South Dakota. Her other favorite subjects are Wildlife; Western themes with children and Santa; Desert flowers with Hummingbirds; Lions; Tigers; and Bears. She finds there is beauty in everything and everyone. All of the people and animals in her art are real and her wild imagination sees stories everywhere. That used to get her in a lot of trouble in school and her Mother saved all the notes from her teachers saying “Kathy is a daydreamer”. Thank Goodness, she finally found work where daydreaming paid off! She met her friend, Merle Slagle in 1975 when Kathy and her husband, Ed moved to Lawton, Oklahoma. Kathy was fascinated with Merle’s clever story, Down the Drain and did a series of original watercolors to illustrate it. The book lay quietly in a drawer for several decades awaiting publication. Enjoy the journey.
