Gabriel Thompson (betweentheframe)

Gabriel Thompson is a New York based photographer who grew up in the small northwest town of Bellingham, Washington. His early interests were literature, philosophy, and science. He left school out of boredom and rebellion when he was 17 and pursued street art, and poetry.

After living a life of debauchery with periods of homelessness and institutionalization, he pursued photography. He took to the camera with an automatic gift. His work is informed by philosophy and literature. Gabriel has an attention for detail, and a lightning fast mind. He trained himself on film, in the streets, and in community darkrooms with very little instruction.

Gabriel's lifelong struggles with substances, depression, and suicide fuel his attention to a sadness and loss in the world he feels is integral to the human condition.
