Ariana Sturr (asturr)
Ariana Sturr is an interdisciplinary artist working with installation, photography, sculpture, digital media platforms, and most recently print and bookmaking. She received a B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in photography from Loyola Marymount University in May 2015. Originally from Northern California, she now resides in Los Angeles where she works as an arts educator.
Sturr’s work examines environmental issues in a time of environmental crisis, with a recent focus on philosophies of anthropocentrism, the belief that humankind is the central element of existence. Sturr was the recipient of Loyola Marymount’s CFA Studio Art award, Photography Scholar of Distinction, and Sculpture Scholar of Distinction.
Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Laband Art Gallery, Sebastopol Art Center, and the Thomas P. Kelly Student Gallery. Solo installations include “Earth Tones” at the Thomas P Kelly Student Gallery and “Yoke” at Studio 106.
