April McMillan (AprilMcMillan)

April McMillan is an emerging photographer whos interested in many fields, Fashion & Beauty being first and foremost. Although, as of recently, Portraiture and Fine Art has fast become an area of focus.

As a native New Yorker, McMillan's variety of exposure to different cultural scenes continues to influence her angle of work. Her strong interest in the visual medium and the art of visual persuasion stems from her studies of advertising and fashion design.

McMillan has an A.A.S degree in Fashion Marketing from CUNY's New York City College of Technology. She is currently attending SUNYs Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in Photography; with two active minors in Art History and Film & Media Studies.

What motivates her to keep shooting is the idea that with a camera, reality can be amplified or completely fabricated. Ideas are brought to life and/or preconceptions are overturned.
