ania fedisz (anulka78)
Ania Fedisz Pereyra is a fashion photographer whose work has always been informed by her love of cinema, and her admiration for the great master Richard Avedon.
Initially trained as an interior architect, with a master’s degree from The Academy of Art in her native Warsaw Poland, Anna soon realized the skills gained from an architect’s training, including discipline, composition, and draftsmanship, would better serve her true passion: fashion photography.
Her passion for beautiful images also led her to pursue a parallel degree in photography from The Film Academy, in Ludz, Poland.
Ania communicates in still photography, using the language of filmmaking. To this day, she guides her models, much like a filmmaker directs an actor.
Before she even learned English, Ania packed up her bags, and followed her dreams to New York City. In a twist of fate, her hero, the great Richard Avedon, passed away on the day she landed in the city.
Refusing to let something as simple as a language barrier stand in her way, Ania immersed herself in the visual language of her new home, New York, where she works and lives to this day.
One of Anna’s greatest strengths as a photographer is her capacity to pay attention both to the small details of an image, as well as the bigger picture itself. As a photographer, Ania strives to both meet and exceed the expectations of her clients.
Most important to her work, Ania’s training and cinematic vision always allow her to “tell a story”, through her composition. The story, she believes, is the image.
In her own words: “Because of my background, I used to carefully plan images from storyboards, but since moving to NY, I’ve learned you can find beauty everywhere. The world is a pretty place if you look at it from the right angle”.
