Shared Space

This magazine represents the musings, the philosophies, and the thoughts of the creative writers at Lou Dantzler Preparatory Charter High School. An annual publication, the stories and poems were collected over the course of the 2009/2010 school year. Featured Writers include talented poets and authors Jonathan Jackson-Dent, Marissa Stewart, Alexandria Watts, and Marquis Williams.

The title of the journal, shared space, reveals the plight of the Lou Dantzler students who have fought to obtain their education in urban Los Angeles, overcoming myriad obstacles along the way including the lack of a permanent school sight. The students have had to share space with a boys and girls club, a religious institution, and with another school. In our creative writing journal the students share space one more time as they come together with their poetry and stories in one magazine.
