the magazines in this collection are all originally 70 ft. continuous story paintings in an accordion style folding album. they were done in a traditional Chinese style using ink and watercolor on rice paper. centuries ago this kind of album art was meant to be read as a book but from right to left. the length of mine make any kind of holding impossible. in the magazine form they can be enjoyed by more people. any age can read because there are no words. however, I do occasionally paint subjects that are controversial such as logging, hunting, or circuses...I want everyone to be able to enjoy this ancient art medium.
