Three California photographers turn their lenses on the historic adobe walls and quiet rooms of Missions of California, showing their tribute to the colorful mission history. Martîn Vargas of Salinas, Carolyn Fox, and Larry Angier both of Jackson craft their favorite images for portfolio exhibitions in honor of the Missions for display annually at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas to raise awareness of both the beauty and the plight of the missions. The National Steinbeck Center has hosted four photo shows including Soledad, San Miguel, San Antonio de Padua, and now Mission San Juan Bautista “reVisions” show Each of the three photographers participated with Al Weber and his Mission Portfolio Workshop which headlined annual displays at the National Steinbeck Center beginning in 2009. Today that legacy is now a new portfolio exhibition project called Mission reVisions.
