The Foothill College Photo Club’s Round Robin project that ran from December 2008 to July 2009 was inspired by Alex Soth’s lecture at the Society of Photographic Education (SPE) Conference in November 2008. The format of the Round Robin was designed to facilitate collaboration and communication between photographers. Thus, the first photographer sent a photograph to the second photographer. The second photographer had two weeks to create an image that was inspired by the picture he or she received and pass it on to the third photographer, and so on until the end of the thread. The connection between the photographs could be concrete, such as a similar color or object, or it could be more abstract or intangible, such as an atmosphere or situation.
