Mission Critical: First Responders

AUVSI is proud to present the second edition of a new electronic quarterly publication, "Mission Critical."

Each issue will examine a different topic area in depth and is available free electronically to AUVSI members and in paid printed form to all.

This issue examines the needs of first responders, including police and firefighters. It takes a look at police robots in the United Kingdom, surveys the robots used in Japan in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami and reviews efforts to integrate unmanned systems with wildfire fighting.

We also interview leading roboticists, look at technology challenges and include a map of who's doing what, and where. Take a look, let us know what you think, and stay tuned for the next issue, which will focus on home and health care robotics.
