Yellow New York cab. Scrambled eggs. Mellow yellow. Sun. We love Yellow!

Read our new contributing fiction editor Lauren Beukes' first short story in Chew. The piece, Confirm/Ignore, is inspired by photographer Renata Paskal's submission, particularly an image with the Tee slogan: 'Be Yourself, Everybody Else Is Taken'. We know you will love this story, which is why each issue of Chew will feature a fictional short story by one of South Africa's most talented wordsmiths and inspired by a creative submission.

Multi-disciplinary French artist Xavier Veilhan is the mastermind behind a gigantic yellow sculptural masterpiece called Sophie. Dressed in her yellow trench coat and heels, she proudly spans two levels of the Germain Restaurant.

"How do you mask the insignificant and the banal in life? Through the beer goggles of social networking, of course". Kudakwashe Maradzika chews on whether Facebook or Twitter is the new yellow.
