The Hat of the Seven Cables is named after the Nathaniel Hawthorne novel with a similar name. This soft warm hat is a favorite among chemotherapy patients because of its softness and comfortable fit. Knitting this a great way to learn how to make cables because illustrated instructions are included. I especially like to make them using an alpaca blend in bright colors. They take only about 150 yards.
