Calendar highlighting the wild horses on the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge before they were removed from their range by US fish and Wildlife Service. The horses can trace their lineage back to before the Civil war, and roamed free on the range before the land was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1931. Many of their ancestors were rounded up and used by the US military in wars from the civil War to WWII. They are often referred to as America's War Horses. All photographs by Marilyn Gregory, who tracked these horses for many years in their natural habitat. All proceeds go to The Mustang Project who is providing sanctuary for a portion of the last remaining herd of horses removed in the fall of 2014.
