Proms - Ken Graves & Eva Lipman

In a collaboration that has lasted 25 years, Ken Graves and Eva Lipman have challenged the convention of the 'heroic' artist working in solitude. Attending over 30 high school proms these two photographers capture the vitality, creativity and sexuality of the adolescent on the threshold of adulthood. The images focus on moments of transformation, ranging from awkward shyness, to uninhibited displays of passion, to exhaustion. Like the photographs themselves, Ken and Eva share a vision that combines formal restraint and sensory surrender.
