Best of KidSpirit, Volume III

The Best of KidSpirit Online, Volume III, is a compendium of the most inspiring, thought-provoking, and imaginative work by young people. KidSpirit is an online magazine and community for 11- to 17-year-olds. The volume contains work by over 40 youth from 11 states and 5 countries, including the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, and China. Articles were edited by seven editorial boards made up of over 50 young people. The volume represents diverse global voices engaging in conversation on themes rich with meaning: education, time, money, God, heroism, gender, beauty, and truth.

Readers will find pieces that probe weighty topics: a Muslim-American girl explores the history of the hijab, including interviews with her peers; a Chinese-American writer from California assesses the Tiger Mom craze; and a teen from New Jersey reflects on heroism today and in the past. The book also features media reviews, original poetry and artwork relating to each theme.
