Glass artist and sculpture, John Leighton has been producing art for over 40 years. Leighton took his first trip to Japan in 1983 when he invited to teach at the Tokyo Glass Institute. Since that time he has been fascinated by aspects of Japanese aesthetics. Leighton's newest work continues to draw on the Japanese inspiration but with an added emotional resonance borne of the artist's consideration of personal history.
