125 Years: An Exhibition/Une Exposition: 125 Ans is a for-sale contemporary art exhibition taking place in Paradigm[e]: The Dean's Gallery.
2014 marks the 125th anniversary of the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Arts. Throughout the Faculty's history, individuals have forged their identities and left their legacies through their involvement with the Faculty. To this day, the individual identity of each student contributes to the collective identity of the Faculty of Arts, their legacy the lasting effect of that identity. However, contemporary identities are much more complex than the identities of 125 years ago, and while each student's identity informs the larger identity of the Faculty, the landscape of individual identity in the Faculty of Arts is more diverse than ever before.
The selected works, along with all of the past and present students of the Faculty of Arts, explore contemporary identity, and each represents a facet in the living legacy of the Faculty of Arts.
