Horno is a knitting pattern for a hat knit in the round with worsted weight yarn. This versatile hat can be worn cuffed as a snug watch cap or un-cuffed as a slouchy toque. A tubular cast on creates a sleek edge for the tall ribbed cuff, while the crown of the hat is worked in a textured slip stitch pattern particularly well suited for showing off variegated and hand dyed yarn. The pattern is written for three sizes to fit babies, children and adults. Written and charted instructions are included. Finished Measurements: Pattern is written for small (babies), medium (children) and large (adults) to fit 15 (18, 22) in./38 (46, 56) cm head circumference. Circumference: 11 1/2 (14 1/2, 17 1/2) in./30 (37, 44) cm. Length: 7 1/2 (9, 10 1/2) in./18 (23, 27) cm. Materials: Yarn: One-ply worsted weight (Shown in Manos del Uruguay Maxima): 120 (145, 175) yd./109 (132, 159) m. Needles: US 7/4.5 mm double pointed needles or 32 in./80 cm (or longer) circular needle for working in the “magic loop” method.
