This building documentation was a result of a mitigation for the demolition of the Cienega School in Los Angeles, California. The report was one of the mitigations required under the California Environmental Quality Act. This publication is an educational sample to be used in workshops such as the California Preservation Foundation (CPF) and other historic preservation educational programs. The book shows a "typical" documentation of a historic resource, with historic research by ASM Affiliates, archival copies of blueprints from the LA Unified School District archives and large format field photographs by Stephen Schafer (all photographs were taken to HABS specifications).

The school building was documented in August 2011, and the Magcloud version of the report was produced for the CPF Workshop: CEQA and Historic Resources July 24, 2013 in San Francisco.

The building documented in this report was demolished 2013.
