The series, “Studio Walls”, featured in this book was conceptualized out of my feelings of frustration as being an actress who was regularly employed to a woman trying to balance newly found motherhood with her previous lifestyle. All the images of the movie studios were captured with long exposures at night when the gates were closed, cars streaked by and lights on posts shined bright like stars in the sky. With this series, I set out to capture Hollywood as a metaphor. I captured images with my Canon 5D mk3 then collided them together with Photoshop CS6. This is the Hollywood I know. Every thing is symbolic. The street lights represent movie stars. The streaking car lights represent the red tape you have to jump through. And the signs and faint images represent the all the deterring or negative aspects of chasing the dream, Hollywood.
