Karen Klein's Broken Circle - Children of Divorce and Separation offers intimate portraiture along with personal commentary by young adults revealing how their parents’ divorce impacted their lives–then and now. For the most part, this group has been absent from the dialogue/skirmish that goes on in the legal system and elsewhere about divorce. Fifty percent of American children will experience the breakup of their parents’ marriage. Although a vast number of books, studies, and guides focus on divorce and its aftermath, sadly absent from this mix are resources focusing upon those individuals finding themselves in the crosshairs of divorce: the children. Their written statements moved back and forward in time, each one a revelation of the life-altering events and memories before, during, and after their family breakup.
