Apeira is a journal of cultural theory devoted to the interrelations between critical ideas and architectural explorations. By probing concepts embedded in specific histories and spaces, Apeira provides a breeding ground for new architectural and cultural visions.

The first issue of Apeira assembles readings of two novels in Zola's Rougon-Macquart series, a manifesto for intersubjective architecture, essays on mysticism and the bucolic tradition of poetry, a critical positioning of women artists in the second half of the 20th century, a comparison of Lucretius and Goethe, and a speculative architectural project.

Contributors include Lea Anglais, Carlos Blanco, Timothy Chandler, David Getzin, Jason Nguyen, Etien Santiago, Jessica Vaughn, and Michael Vlasopoulos.
