The photographs in this book were shot in malls and on the streets of the Bay Area in Northern California during the first six months of 2024 and are a look at modern consumer culture and American ideas and tropes of beauty, desire and the hunger for what we do not yet have in our lives, bodies, personalities and homes. The people, faces, products, vivid colors and patterns used in advertising photography and large scale consumer graphics were my models for creating and composing much more interesting and abstract works of art that have nothing to do with selling products. The images are about composition, color, forms, shapes and kinetic visual energy bound up with American dynamism and cultural and consumer themes, memes, notions and motions.
