This edition of the RMJ include a set of poems by Mallory Garcia Grismer. These poignant vignettes explore the ways in which we experience large-scale societal events (wars, social movements, and so on), both individually and collectively. We felt that this work tied quite profoundly into the topics we research at Regimes Museum. The more traditional articles in this issue consist of contributions from two members of our team: our resident historian and frequent contributor, Ralph Pickard, and the founder of Regimes Museum, Dr. Marc T. Voss. Pickard’s work focuses on the close professional relationship between two notorious state security organizations, the KGB and the Stasi, using a fascinating collection of awards and images from award ceremonies to exemplify this connection. Voss’s article highlights some of the Holocaust Studies research that catalyzed the foundation of this organization, commenting on the initial findings of 2013 and how these have shifted in the past decade.
