Welcome to our March edition! In last month’s edition, we were briefed on some interesting geographical facts. So, here is another interesting fact for you. March is the third month on the Julian as well as the Gregorian calendar as we very well know but did you know that March was first referred to as “Martius” or “Mensis Martius” named after the Roman God of war the “Mars”. March was also considered as the first month in the Roman Calendar.

The month of March is known as Women’s History Month and is celebrated in countries like the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. To acknowledge the great contributions made by women in history and contemporary society. In addition to this, America observes many more such ideologies in March like National Nutrition Month, National Reading Awareness Month, Youth Art Month, Irish-American Heritage Month, National Celery Month and so many more. The first Friday in March is celebrated as Employee Appreciation Day in the United States.
