Heath, Massachusetts is a beautiful tiny hill town in northwestern Massachusetts, on the Vermont border. It was incorporated on Valentine’s Day in 1785. I first came there in 1954, and much of the town remains remarkably physically similar to how it was when I first arrived there as a summer resident. It remains one of my favorite places on earth. This book is filled with photos and stories from my many decades in Heath. I feel blessed to have been a very small part of this very small town for most of my life. Personal history is an unending, ongoing dialogue between the present and the past, always racing towards the future. The facts of our lives are less important than what we remember.
