I never thought I’d ever shoot a camera remotely in my time as a photographer. Then 2020 came around and in late March the UK went into “lockdown”. Physical shoots were cancelled, studios shut their doors, models were suddenly without booked shoots and the industry just stopped. What was going happen? When were photographers going to be shooting again? How could studios open again? How could the industry work safely but still be creative?

Slowly on social media both photographers and models around the world started to get creative. FaceTime shoots suddenly became popular as people on both sides of the camera looked to be creative while the world is in the grip of a pandemic. Even publications started to print sets of FaceTime shoots. Next the idea developed a step farther as people had to work from home more and video conferencing software became popular.
