Streets of Old Delhi

An old man squats by a half full trash bin, oblivious to the passing legs around him. Down the street a bicycle rickshaw edges between two motor scooters. Bells and horns ring to clear the way. A shopper pauses, decisions to be made. Horse carts and ox carts move goods in the crowded streets. Motors whine. Shears snip. Someone snoozes.

These photographs were made in and around Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi during two trips to India in 2010 and 2011. They attempt to capture the daily life along this bustling street in all its chaos and rhythms.
