This zine first started off as a photography project for my Contemporary Photography course at Sacramento State. This project explores the surrounding areas of Old River Road. For years now I have picked up on little details and noticed how different of a feeling you can get from being at a place after the sun goes down. You can go to a place 100 times in the day, but as soon as you go at night that scene could completely switch. A boring place can become interesting, a safe place can feel scary, a busy place can feel lifeless, and a bland area can become full of life. I chose to showcase this quality throughout the project. Going to one specific spot in the day and coming back to that exact location at night to capture how different these scenes can be. The bland and confided space became a blessing in disguise as it pushed me to a new style of photography and further explore the duality between day and night.
