Impediments in the path of liberation (Hindi Dadavani August-2006)

It is held that a life as a human being is very difficult to attain even for a celestial being. Why? The reason for this is that salvation—absolute enlightenment and liberation is only possible through life as a human being. However, for this one must have made a meaningful goal as a human being. In the absence of meeting a true Gnani one continues to remain in agnan—ignorance of the Self and in that state one wastes away precious human life in creating and running after meaningless goals, not understanding the critical value of having become a human being. After meeting an AtmaGnani—one who has experienced the Self—one can attain AtmaGnan—knowledge of the Self and thereafter, one makes a firm decision that except for ultimate liberation he does not want anything in this world.
