The Gotland story involves four related breeds of sheep in the Northern short-tail lineage that have ties back to the Swedish island of Gotland, located in the Baltic Sea. Each of these breeds fills a unique cultural, and in some cases environmental, niche. First Gute or Goth sheep, the ancestor of the others. The Gotland, a more modern breed, next. Some Gotlands traveled to New Zealand, via Denmark, and transformed to Stansborough Grey. Finally, American Gotland is being developed through a process called upgrading or upbreeding.

Printed document plus free digital version; 8x8" publication. This document contains theory and practical knowledge for fiber arts enthusiasts of all skill levels. The handouts are heavily illustrated.
