Calamity Jane's Restaurant is located in the building that was "The Forsyth Hotel "which was built in 1908. Across the street was the Seattle Malting and Brewing Company, the 6th biggest brewery in the world at the time, about 5 acres. Hotels sprang up on this side of the street to accomodate the workers. 10' X10' rooms with a bathroom down the hall, the Forsyth originally had 10 rooms. Originally there was Forsyth Real Estate company in the South side storefront (B suite). In the 50's there was a tropical fish store in the A suite storefront, with the owner living in the back.
