This sweater is knit from the top down—the yoke is worked, then the sleeve stitches are placed on holders while the body is worked. The sleeve stitches are returned to double pointed needles then worked from the underarm to the cuff in the round. No seaming is required to make this piece.
Finished Measurements: 31½ (35½, 39½, 43½, 47½, 51½, 55½)" 77.5 (87.5, 98, 108, 118, 128.5, 138.5) cm
Yarn Requirements: Shown in Plymouth's Homestead yarn 100% Peruvian wool 100 gram hank = approx 191 yards 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) hanks in color 101 Light Grey Heather, or approx 610 (700, 810, 930, 1060, 1170, 1320) yards in a comparable earth-friendly yarn.
Knitting Needles: One 29" circular and one set of double pointed needles size US 9 (5.5 mm); one pair straight needles size US 8 (5 mm) Or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 16 sts and 23 rows = 4" in 2 x 2 Rib after wet-blocking and stretched to dry. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
