Pierre-Etienne Vachon (pevachon)

From the moment he could walk, Pierre-Etienne’s shoes pointed him towards the next adventure. Having grown up on the banks of the Jacques-Cartier National Park (north of Quebec City), open spaces are part of his DNA.

Curious and with a thirst for discoveries, globetrotting allowed him to feed his taste for exploration. From Mount Waddington in Western Canada to Mount Cook in New Zealand, from the great National Parks of the American West to the Australian Desert; or simply down the rapids of his home river, the Jacques-Cartier. For many years, tirelessly, mountaineering expeditions overlapped climbing trips, whitewater river runs traded places with the waves of the Pacific ocean up until, a few years ago, when he took some time off from adventures to focus on his businesses.

On the professional front, Pierre-Etienne specializes in marketing and, to this day, heads his own Marketing Strategy Agency, Mille Verba, which partners on both local and international projects. The agency also offers multimedia creation services, photography being one of Pierre-Etienne’s favorite medium.

After a couple of years of ignoring adventure’s call, it became imperative to reconnect with it or lose oneself. Pierre-Étienne, now accompanied by his faithful sidekick Sputnik as well as his ever present desire to push back boundaries, decided to take on running whilst incorporating his knowledge and thirst for the outdoors and expertise in multimedia. The result: solo ultra-trail running projects, in remote areas, requiring high levels of commitment.

“Running opened a whole new world of opportunities for me. In areas where walking it the only mean of transportation possible, running allows me to reduce the time required to satisfy my innate need for exploration. More terrain in less time while pushing back my own physical and psychological limits, it’s just perfect.” - Pierre-Étienne Vachon

Even if there is a strong focus on ultra-trails, many other “outdoor” projects are planned in the not so distant future.

"Seek further. Always." - Pierre-Étienne Vachon
