A uniform method for evaluating academic success is provided by the GPA system, making it easier to compare results in different educational settings. Our GPA calculator uses the commonly used 4.0 scale—where an A is worth 4.0—to convert letter grades to numerical values. In order to assist schools in assessing pupils for college admission and scholarships, GPA is computed by average these numbers while taking credit hours into account.
