The Verbiest Belgian Crucifix was first dedicated in 1911 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Detroit. It survived the Briggs plant fire in 1963 which destroyed the church; it was rebuilt and rededicated in 1967. The crucifix was moved to Annunciation Church (now Good Shepherd Church) in Detroit in 2000. The beautiful 100-year-old crucifix was professionally restored in 2011 and rededicated at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, St. Clair Shores.
