The Cobra 440AF is an electronic flash with tilting head for bounce, 35-85mm zoom and AF illuminator, available in several different versions for auto focus 35mm film SLR cameras from Canon (EOS), Minolta (Dynax), Nikon or Pentax (SF). It's compatible with various models from the late 1980s and early 1990s and may also work with later film cameras, but NOT most digital types.
The same flash was also sold under different names, such as the Achiever 260AF, Sakar 717AF, Soligor TIF 340 and others. An earlier Cobra 400AF model is the same apart from the AF illuminator.
Please note that there was a later version of this flash, confusingly also sometimes marked 440AF (but often including an extra letter such as 440AFC for Canon). The two models are quite similar and much of this manual still applies.
